Fairmont State University Architecture students can earn an A.S in Architectural Engineering Technology in 2 years and a B.S of Architecture in 4 years.

The Architecture curriculum includes multiple facets.  Faculty members focus on:

  • History
  • Design theory
  • Building systems
  • Graphic skills
  • Oral communication skills

For those students who choose to earn a 4 year degree, they should expect core and advanced Architectural lessons and projects. They will study:

  • Architectural history
  • Architectural theory
  • Building technology
  • Methodology
  • Technological and theoretical synthesis

Advanced design studios address methodology, and technological and theoretical synthesis through applied studies of a wide range of design inquiries and projects.

Career Opportunities

Architecture students who earn a baccalaureate degree are qualified for entry-level positions such as designer or architectural technician. They may be employed in architectural offices, engineering offices, corporations or businesses which produce their own in house construction documents, and construction-related fields.  Additional career opportunities for Architecture students include:
