Walls and compound walls, foundations, columns, beams, slabs, roofs, doors, windows, curtain walls, stairs, reflected ceilings, spaces, and so on are created and modified parametrically-that is, dimension driven. Create virtually any form

For rapid creation of complex parametric objects and assemblies, such as doors, windows, curtain walls, shop fronts, or handrails, Bentley Architecture includes extremely powerful modeling technology. Known as "dimension-driven, feature-based, parametric modeling," it defines component dimensions as user-definable variables and expressions, relationships between objects as dimensional constraints, and arrays of components as rules, like "maximum distance" between curtain wall mullions, thus capturing design intent.

In addition, it provides a full range of advanced solids modeling tools, which allow the creation of virtually any form, including openings, recesses, and protrusions. Unlike applications that use facets to emulate curved surfaces, Bentley Architecture creates truly curved and double-curved surfaces and solids for accurate construction information and smooth rendering.

In addition, Bentley Architecture not only supports Adobe PDF, the standard for electronic deliverables in AEC. You can include embedded 3D models, and connect to the Google Earth service.

From a consistent building information model, you can automatically generate coordinated floor plans, sections, and elevations that comply with user-definable drawing standards. Tools give full control over the cut plane(s) and forward and reflected view representation, as well as levels, symbology, material hatching and patterning, annotation and labeling, and dimensioning. Unlike applications that impose a particular way of working, Bentley Architecture provides complete workflow flexibility. Using the same tools and an identical interface, you can work in a traditional 2D plan or advanced 3D model environment, attach attributes and properties to building components and objects at the time of placement or add them as the project progresses. You can promote "dumb" 2D graphics-even if they came from other CAD applications-to "intelligent" 3D objects. In any case, changes made in either environment may be tracked and synchronized.

Available in major languages, Bentley Architecture is delivered with localized content for a variety of country-specific CAD standards. Datasets include common parametric and non-parametric building objects and components with settings for 2D and 3D symbology, level, and properties for quantity takeoff and rendering, plus attribute schemas, seed files, steel tables, annotation symbols, report templates, and more.
