Architect Magazine published a list of schools from across the United States, polling firms and organizations that hire graduates to determine the top schools in architecture. The list came from the Design Futures Council and the DesignIntelligence journal in order to prepare students for their professional careers in architecture. Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University topped the list of undergraduate schools. Cornell University and Syracuse University took the second and third spots, while California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo and the University of Cincinnati round out the top five in fourth and fifth respectively. The top five graduate schools were Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Columbia University, Cornell University, and Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.
