We work with retailers across the globe, supplying design-related documentation, 3D models, and computer-generated images that are used for planning, construction and project management purposes. We use Autodesk’s Revit application to create and validate our work.

Production Drawings Sets
We provide complete construction drawing sets for residential property, created using the latest software from Autodesk (Revit or AutoCAD) or bespoke software created by our customers. We also use additional detailing packages such as SolidWorks to create drawings for engineered solution that are used in retail design.
Our construction sets incorporate all key drawings including floor plans, internal elevations, external elevations, construction plans, setting-out drawings, composite plans, finishing plans, lighting and ceiling plans. Our drawings also include comprehensive equipment schedules and material and component take-off data.
Our skilled teams of interior designers and architects have experience of retail design, documentation, and project management. Through local office liaison, an understanding of brand direction and through consultation with design standards our design teams provide an essential design team extension for our customers, taking responsibility for concept design and layout for a range of retail outlets.
Most of the work we carry out for the retail is created using Revit Architecture and Revit MEP tools. This allows us to check the accuracy of a model and also to use the 3D model for a range
of other purposes such as the extraction of ‘green building’ data and for creating 4D models that are useful for planning the installation stage of the project. As part of our 3D modelling service for retailers, we also provide scan-to-BIM services, using point cloud data as our source material.
XS CAD also provides building information modelling (BIM) services to retailers. By producing BIM retail models for our retail clients, we are able to provide a high-quality service using software, such as Revit Architecture and Revit MEP. These applications allows us to create retail stores or outlets on a database-driven program, allowing 3D output that can be tested for interferences, as well as a base for technical 2D data such as production drawings and material and part schedules. The extraction of automated schedules directly from the BIM model ensures accuracy and speed of output for our retail projects. The BIM model can also be used for input into rendering and visualisation tools to allow realistic views to be created and used for presentation purposes.
We create and manage libraries as blocks (for AutoCAD) or as families (for Revit) for our clients so that the drawing process can be simplified.
Our Revit family models provide maximum benefit. As well as the flexibility of parametric models, they allow us to add additional data to models that can be extracted at a later point for schedules and material take-off information.
We create manufacturing and assembly drawings for bespoke retail furniture, fixtures and fittings. Our detailed drawings are based on design and material specifications provided to us. We create detailed drawings showing technical and specifications data based on the intended design using AutoCAD detailing software.
We are able to create a range of floor plans in various styles to use in bid presentations, in brochures and on websites. Our floor plans can be created in a range of formats including colour coded plans or 3D plans with or without furniture and fittings.
Computer Generated Images
We create realistic computer-generated images for external and internal perspectives. We start by creating accurate 3D models that are then used within sophisticated rendering application to produce photorealistic images. Besides, we create images featuring artistic and watercolour effects to suite the preferred style of each clients.
Computer-generated images support the tender and bid process but they are also used by project teams and other stakeholders to gain a visual understanding of the design and layout of retail interiors.
